Moments in the Waiting Room: A Gratitude Journal

A quiet space to pause, reflect, and remember what truly matters.

In a world that rushes us from one moment to the next, Moments in the Waiting Room invites you to slow down. Inspired by the heartfelt reflections in The Waiting Room, this journal is more than a place to write, it's a space to notice.

Practising gratitude has been shown to improve sleep, reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and even shift how we experience life’s challenges. But more than the science, gratitude helps us stay anchored, especially during life’s pauses, transitions, and uncertainties.

Whether you’re navigating grief, embracing change, or simply seeking a deeper connection with the everyday, this journal becomes your gentle companion. Each prompt is crafted to help you rediscover beauty in the ordinary, draw strength from reflection, and hold space for hope.

You don’t need grand moments to feel grateful, just a willingness to notice the small ones.

Let this journal guide you there.

How to Use Your Gratitude Journal

1. Set a Regular Time: choose a time each day (morning or evening) to sit quietly and reflect. Consistency helps build a meaningful habit.

2. Use the Prompts. Each page includes thoughtful prompts to guide reflection from noticing small joys to appreciating people, lessons, or even challenges.

3. Be Honest and Personal write freely. This is your space there’s no right or wrong way to feel or express gratitude.

4. Reflect weekly at the end of each week, take a moment to read back what you’ve written. Notice patterns, changes in perspective, and small wins.

5. Pair with “The Waiting Room” (Optional). If used alongside The Waiting Room, use each journal entry as a mirror to the stories exploring your own moments of resilience, grace, and gratitude through the lens of Philipa and Mona’s journey.

6. Don’t force it, some days will be harder than others. It’s okay. Even a single word “sunlight,” “tea,” “hope” is enough
